Chattanooga Congressman Chuck Fleischmann has been named Tennessee state chair for Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign, according to a campaign announcement.

“Gov. Huckabee has been a steadfast fiscal and social conservative and has the proven executive leadership our country desperately needs,” Fleischmann said. “The people of Tennessee share his values. I am honored to be on his team and look forward to helping him to victory in Tennessee.”

The campaign also named Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell as state co-chair and other leadership posts in Southern states. Former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue was named campaign chair in Georgia.

Huckabee said in a statement: “Tennessee is a key plank to our campaign strategy, and I’m energized by the groundswell of conservative support we have across the Volunteer State. Brick by brick, we have built a strong grassroots team that is swelling across the country that will power us through the Republican primary.”

Huckabee has endorsed Fleischmann in all the congressman’s Republican primaries. One of the presidential candidate’s senior advisers, Chip Saltsman, is a former chief of staff and campaign manager for Fleischmann.
