Stir grand opening
After months of work, new Southside restaurantStirwill officially open to the public Nov. 16, and owners are donating a portion of sales that week to theChattanooga Community Kitchen.

Most all details, such as lighting and hardwood floor installation, are complete, but the patio is still under construction.
Owners have hired 92 people and are still looking for a handful of servers and bartenders.

Sugar’s Ribs closed
The downtown location of Sugar’s Ribs has closed. Recently, there was a sign on the door that guided customers to the 15th Avenue location and to sister restaurants, which include Canyon Grill and the Boathouse Rotisserie and Raw Bar.
Owners/managers of the restaurant couldn’t be reached for more information.
Walmart is hiring more than 1,700 seasonal employees in Tennessee to meet demands for the holiday season.
Starting salaries are at least $9 an hour.
Officials said that employees initially hired as seasonal sales associates, cashiers and stockers often continue as full-time employees and progress within the company.
Last year, more than half of Walmart’s seasonal employees nationwide continued with the retailer as permanent employees.
