One week after a fatal school bus crash that killed six Woodmore Elementary children, five others remain hospitalized-three in critical condition and two in fair condition.
Hamilton County School System Interim Superintendent Dr. Kirk Kelly updated media Monday evening with messages for community members.
“We are humbled by the generous outpouring of support from our community,” he said. “Getting our children back to a normal routine is vital to their well-being.”
He also said that physical donations are still welcome and asked that they are taken to New Monumental Baptist Church, which is located at 901 Woodmore Lane.
The church will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day this week for donations.
Anyone with monetarydonations can give through The Woodmore Fund.
The Woodmore Fund was establishedthrough the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
The foundation will be working in partnership with United Way of Greater Chattanooga to make sure these funds are dispersed effectively and efficiently. All the proceeds will go directly to the families.
