GreenSpaces and Tennessee Solar Solutions have partnered to raffle off a home solar installation valued at $20,000 to celebrate both companies’ 10-year anniversaries this year.

Tennessee Solar Solutions is donating the solar installation that will be raffled as a fundraiser for GreenSpaces, according to a news release.

“Funds raised through the raffle will be used to support programs like Empower,” GreenSpaces Executive Director Michael Walton said in a prepared statement.“Since 2014, our Empower Program has helped over 1,000 low-income residents identify simple low- and no-cost ways to reduce energy bills.”


Tickets to the raffle can be purchased for $100, and all proceeds go to supporting GreenSpaces’ mission to advance the sustainability of living, working and building in Chattanooga, according to the news release.

“We’ve been working with, partnering and supporting GreenSpaces ourselves since our company was founded,” Tennessee Solar Solutions founder and President Anthony Roden said in a prepared statement. “We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than to donate this solar installation that has the potential to not only raise a lot of money to further GreenSpaces’ mission, but to also help save one lucky person a lot [of] money and make a difference environmentally.”

Only 500 tickets will be sold in the raffle, and they went on sale June 5.

“Solar energy is obviously something that we encourage and support, and Tennessee Solar Solutions has been a wonderful partner over the years,” Walton said. “We are honored that they have chosen this as a way to celebrate their accomplishment of serving Chattanooga for the past 10 years.”

Empower Program Director Sam Fulbright said GreenSpaces began 10 years ago to help incentivize LEED construction in Chattanooga.

“Now we work on the sustainability of living, working and building in Chattanooga,” he said. “[GreenSpaces’ goal] is making suresustainabilityis social, economical and accessible to everyone.”

Fulbright said the next 10 years will be focused on making the programs that GreenSpaces has started more accessible across all of Chattanooga.

Tickets for the raffle can be purchased from GreenSpaces’ website. In addition to the solar installation,GreenSpacesis offering a Schneider Electric EVlink charging station as a second-place prize, according to the news release.
