Porker’s Bar-B-Que is closing July 28.

The 1251 Market St. restaurant-which has been in business for 28 years-will be open until 6 p.m., possibly later if the business has customers and there’s still food.

Porker’s will maintain a presence in town with a food truck and catering.

A flyer for customers of the restaurant thanked them for their support over the past two-plus decades.

“All things must come to an end at some point … Change is, unfortunately, a part of our modern society,” the flyer reads. “We will still be offering catering services and also venturing into the food truck industry, so look for our logo around town serving the same great barbecue you have come to love.”

In 2007, President George W. Bush visited Chattanooga and stopped for lunch at the downtown eatery.
