Area residents still have a few days to apply for Protégé Chattanooga, a nine-month, team-based mentorship program.

The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce and Young Professionals of Chattanooga (formerly Young Professionals Association of Chattanooga) collaborate to offer the program, which connects local talent with key community and business leaders.

This is the second year that the class will be made up of 16 people. In previous years, only eight people participated.

“Protégé has given me the opportunity to meet like-minded, ambitious individuals in Chattanooga who I wouldn’t have had the chance to meet otherwise,” Tripp Stanford, who works for Chattanooga business Bellhops, said in a prepared statement. “I also got the chance to have in-depth, intimate conversations with eight of the most influential people in Chattanooga.”

The program begins with an orientation in September and ends with graduate recognition in May. The deadline to apply is Aug. 11.

Applicants must be between the ages of 21 and 40 and are not required to be current members of Young Professionals of Chattanooga, although YPC members and active community members are preferred.

The cost to participate is $450, and some partial scholarships are available. Click here for more information or to apply.
