An annual party centered around an enormous bonfire returns next week, and organizers need your help gathering discarded Christmas trees for the fire.

Treetop Hideaways’ annual Christmas tree bonfire will be Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. at 576 Chattanooga Valley Road.

The event offers an opportunity to “watch a conflagration of past Christmas celebrations and the remnants of the old year turn to ashes” surrounded by friends.

Christmas trees can be dropped off anytime before the event. Last year, more than 60 trees were burned.

Treetop Hideaways has also announced a contest for a free night’s stay in one of the treehouses. The person who brings the most trees to burn between now and Jan. 12 will win.

Participants are asked to make a Facebook post with a treehouse in the background and the number of trees you brought.

More information is below.

Treetop Hideaways is a loft-style treehouse with the rustic feel of outdoor camping and the amenities you might find in a boutique hotel room. It officially opened in November 2015.
