Chattanooga’s Ironman events ranked well with the athletes who participated, according to new survey results.

Ironman officials this week announced the results of its 2017 Athletes’ Choice Awards, releasing the top 10 scoring events in a variety of categories.

The awards are based solely on athlete surveys from all Ironman and Ironman 70.3 events.

Out of the 39 Ironman series events in 2017, Little Debbie Ironman Chattanooga ranked in the top 10 in multiple categories, including a top honor for best restaurants, which officials said is a “major accomplishment” for the community.

Little Debbie Ironman Chattanooga was also selected as No. 4 in best host city experience, No. 5 in overall swim, No. 5 in best race venue, No. 8 in best post-race celebration (tied), No. 8 in best music and No. 9 in overall bike.

Additionally, out of the 102 Ironman 70.3 series events in 2017, the Sunbelt Bakery Ironman 70.3 Chattanooga ranked as the second-best race venue, among other honors.
