A Chattanooga entrepreneur, who has offered several modes of transportation, is now renting a convertible for those who want to tour the Scenic City.

In 2011, Rufus Marye brought a double-decker bus, which he’s since sold, to Chattanooga, and in 2014, he launched a van rental service, called Van Man.

His latest venture, Rufus Ride, offers Fiat 500 convertible rental for $50 to $100 a day, depending on the season.

If demand grows he will add more vehicles to his fleet.

Marye said he wanted to provide something unique for the city.

“That’s why instead of renting the Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro I thought it would be cool to start out with the Fiat 500c,” he said, according to his site. “It’s stylish, easy to park and drive downtown, has great gas mileage and it still looks just as good with the convertible top up as opposed to down.”

Customers can rent the car online and text Marye when they are ready to pick up the car.

Van Man is now in three cities—Chattanooga, Nashville and Knoxville.

“Business is good,” Marye said via email. “We have grown from one van to 13 in all three cities. [There are] six in Nashville, four in Chattanooga and three in Knoxville.”
