It’s time for our roundup of our favorite songs of the week.

The Song of the Day is included in our daily email newsletter. You’ve signed up for that, right?

And as always, tell us what you’ve been listening to. Email me or fire a tweet at me if you have something you think we should hear.

Throwback of the week:
A.C. Newman, frontman for the New Pornographers, released a solo album called “Shut Down the Streets” in 2012. The song “I’m Not Talking” was the standout track. You can hear Neko Case on the song. Below is the official video.

Song of the Week
Our favorite song of the week is “DMITV” from Asheville, North Carolina trio Nest Egg. The consistent beat is perfect for moving to your own rhythm. This track from “Nothingness is Not a Curse” is reminiscent of Deerhunter’s epic “Nothing Ever Happened.” You can stream the whole Nest Egg album at Bandcamp. It’s worth 40 minutes of your time.

Other highlights:

“Painkiller,” Iceage/Sky Ferreira

“Oh My Dear,” Mandy Sloan

“Break-thru,” Dirty Projectors

“Paying off the Happiness,” Illuminati hotties

“Pulled Up the Ribbon,” Okkervil River

All the tracks we enjoyed this week can be found in our ongoing Spotify Playlist:
