Tennessee State Parks and State Natural Areas are offering a variety of volunteer events across the state on June 23 to help TN Promise Scholars log community service hours required to meet their scholarship commitments.
It’s an opportunity for TN Promise Scholars to improve a state park or natural area and bank volunteer service hours while having a little bit of fun at the same time.
Here is a list of events planned at state parks near Chattanooga.
Help clear brush and clean up areas in the park.
Help build part of the Cumberland Trail near Graysville.
Make the park a better place by removing pesky privet plants.
Assist park staff with litter clean-up, invasive species removal and other projects.
Do trail maintenance on the park’s loop trail and pull invasive privet plants.
Help build a reroute along the Council of Trees Trail.
Help reclaim the historic CCC picnic area.
Help beautify some spectacular overlooks.
Remove invasive plant species along the Forks of the River Trail.
Assist with a river gorge clean-up.
Help construct new sections of the Sherwood Forest Trail.

All TN Promise participants are asked to complete the online registration form that is available on the details page of each event. These RSVPs will help park staff be better prepared for their volunteer crews and also make it easier to provide information on volunteer hours on behalf of participants.
