Officials are “in talks” to bring two popular restaurants—Dave & Busters and The Cheesecake Factory—to Hamilton Place Mall.
“This would be the first phase of the Sears redevelopment and will be excited to share additional information as soon as plans are finalized,” a CBL spokeswoman said via email.
CBL owns and manages both Hamilton Place and Northgate malls.
Dave & Busters is an adult arcade, sports bar and restaurant.
The Cheesecake Factory is a restaurant that features more than 250 menu items and more than 50 signature cheesecakes.
Local residents had mixed reactions, such as indifference and excitement, to the possibility of the two new restaurants.

Excited! Always like adding variety to HP dining options!

Both places, for the most part, rely on tourism based clientele. I just don't see how they could sustain themselves in the Hamilton Place area since the mall isn't a tourist draw anymore.

They are typical of the Hamilton Place area. If we’ve got to have them, put the chains by the mall. I can’t take the banality of people visiting downtown and going to a chili’s. Soul crushing.

Can’t we just ask #southsidesocial to sell more cheesecake?

Indifferent. It would take a lot more to get me to Hamilton Place.

Cheesecake Factory, oh yeah! Huge, great menu, lots of room (and also cheesecake). Dunno anything about Dave and Busters.
