The Tennessee Aquarium IMAX 3D will host the premiere screening of a new film about music in America.

“America’s Musical Journey 3D” will be featured as a part of Make Music Day, a day of live music performances throughout Chattanooga on Thursday.

The film will be screened during an event at the IMAX from 5:30-8 p.m. Admission is $12 and tickets can be purchased online.

“America’s Musical Journey 3D” is narrated by Morgan Freeman and hosted by Grammy Award-nominated R&B artist Aloe Blacc.

“From the infectiously brazen sound of New Orleans jazz bands to the sizzling beat of Miamian salsa and conga artists, Blacc embarks on an American musical road trip that reveals how the intermingling of cultures gave birth to styles and sounds that have been treasured and iterated upon all over the world,” according to a release about the film.

After the film, 17-year-old bluegrass sensation Willow Osborne will perform. Osborne will also entertain questions about her personal musical journey that led to an appearance in this new giant screen film.

Beginning June 22, the film will be screened daily at the IMAX at 6 p.m. with additional screenings at 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
