Several organizations recently recognized businesses for outstanding contributions in the building industry.

Building industry associations recognized top businesses at the third annual Building Recognition in Chattanooga awards.

The American Institute of Architects of Chattanooga, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Interior Designers, American Society of Landscape Architects, Associated General Contractors of East Tennessee, GreenSpaces and Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers recognized winners of the third annual Building Recognition in Chattanooga awards.

Awards were presented to the following winners in these categories:

American Institute of Architects of Chattanooga

  • Best Residential Design of the Year – Judge’s Choice: Cogent Studio – City Homes
  • Best Commercial Design of the Year – Judge’s Choice: Franklin Architects – Conversant Group

  • American Society of Civil Engineers & Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers

  • Overall Sustainability Project of the Year People’s Choice: Kelly Subaru submitted by Tennessee Solar Solutions

The event was presented by the American Institute of Architects of Chattanooga and benefited the ACE Mentor Program.

The ACE Mentor Program Mission is to engage and inspire high school students to pursue careers in architecture, engineering and construction through mentoring and to support their continued advancement in the industry.

“The [awards align] with the ACE mission of developing partnerships and recognizing excellence, while supporting our ability through scholarships to encourage high school students to pursue higher education and careers in the architecture, construction and engineering professions,” Board President of ACE Mentor Program Jim Williamson said in a prepared statement.

Updated at 3:37 p.m. July 19 to add an omitted award and correct the winner in the Best Commercial Design of the Year category.
