A new local business is hosting its grand opening Saturday when area residents can see some of the newest technology in adventure sports.

Adventure Sports Innovation, which recently had a soft opening at its Coolidge Park storefront, provides hands-on access to the latest tech innovations in adventure sports and outdoor experiences on land and water.

The new business also gives local residents the opportunity to try virtual reality thrills, such as a roller coaster design/simulator that allows guests to design their own rides and then experience it virtually.

The Saturday grand opening is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 191 River St. location.

There will be giveaways, live demonstrations and a chance for patrons to try personal transport devices, such as electric skateboards, bikes and unicycles.

Check out video and photos from inside the business.

The first video shows one of the business’ owners Patrick Molloy and employee Cole Henderson highlighting an off-road electric vehicle a Swincar E-spider, which can be driven at area parks.

This video shows one of the company’s virtual reality experiences. Customers get to draw their own roller coaster and then experience it via virtual reality.

The electric unicycles may be the most difficult to master, but the guides have ways to make it easier, such as using a pole to balance. (Photo: Staff)
