Samples from each barbecue vendor are included in the admission price, and full dinner plates will also be available for purchase from the vendors. Participants can vote for their favorite, and the winner will receive the Best BBQ in the ‘Noog: People’s Choice Award, as well as prizes from the zoo. Both beer and sodas will be available as well.
Music will be provided by Slim Pickins and Dovetail.
Adult tickets are $16 for zoo members and $20 for nonmembers. Kids younger than 2 are free. Tickets include zoo admission during the event, two complimentary beverage tickets, animal encounters, a Q n’ Brew souvenir cup and more.
New to this year’s event, guests can make a custom tie-dyed shirt led by zoo staff. Shirts can be purchased at the same time tickets are purchased for an additional $12.
All proceeds support the zoo and its animals.
The event lasts from 6 to 9 p.m.; the zoo will close at 4 to the general public on Saturday to prepare for the event.
Participating barbecue restaurants include Edley’s, Rib & Loin, Rolling J’s, Sticky Fingers, Texas Roadhouse, CJ’s BBQ, Chatter Box, Bare Knuckles BBQ and more.
