The Chattanooga Choo-Choo. (Photo: Chattanooga Memory Project)

Each week, the Photo of the Day will feature a photo from the Chattanooga Public Library and The Chattanooga Memory Project.

From the project description:

This photo features a trolley and a train at the Chattanooga Choo Choo complex.
The Choo Choo opened in 1973. The hotel complex was formerly Terminal Station at 1400 Market Street. The train station was dedicated in 1909 and closed in 1970. It reopened in 1973 as a tourist attraction and hotel/restaurant complex. In this photo, the trolley is being driven by rail transportation historian Rabbi David Steinberg.

The Chattanooga Memory Project was created by the Chattanooga Public Library to capture the city’s history from the perspective of individuals, including current and former residents and visitors to the Scenic City.
