Local children’s sports league Try Kidz will host its inaugural youth-only triathlon at the Baylor School campus on Aug. 11.
“We hosted a Try Kidz Triathlon camp in June and the kids loved it,” Try Kidz Andy Johnson owner said in a prepared statement. “We can’t wait to see Chattanoogans come together and cheer for our kids to TRY!”
The triathlon will be open to kids ages 6-14 with varying distances for specific age groups.
It will be an “off-road” experience with a swim in the 50-meter pool, a bike ride followed by a run through the trails of the Baylor School campus
Ages 6-9 will compete in a 50-meter swim, 2-mile bike ride and 1-mile run.
Ages 10-14 will compete in a 150-meter swim, 4-mile bike ride and 2-mile run.
The cost of registration is $60 before July 30 and will be $65 after Aug. 1.
