Vice President Mike Pence is slated to visit the area this weekend at Cleveland’s Lee University.
He’s coming to be a part of a July 21 event in support of U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who is seeking to take over U.S. Sen. Bob Corker’s seat.
In the primary election, Blackburn is facing Republican Aaron L. Pettigrew. Democrats on the ballot for that race are Phil Bredesen, Gary Davis and John Wolfe.
Lee University announced the event on social media and later clarified that the school is not sponsoring the event.
