The annual Scenic City Mud Run benefitting the Southeast Tennessee Veterans Coalition will take place on Sept. 1.

The obstacle course race will be hosted at Greenway Farms in Hixson.

Included in the festivities are “warrior style” obstacles, multiple mud pits and a slip and slide.

Participants can choose if they would like to run individually or as a team, and if their race is competitive or non-competitive.

Participants also have to ability to select their preferred race time.

New this year, all finishers will receive a medal in addition to the t-shirt.

An after party to support the Coalition will be on-site with games and refreshments.

Several local military installations will be in attendance.

The mud run attracts more than 1,000 racers each year.

This year, Scenic City Mud Run is hoping to set record numbers of attendees to help the Coalition with their new building downtown, and to continue to provide resources for local Veterans who need assistance.
